Option 1 - Traditional web method

We offer Dell's full line of products through our webpage. This method
provides the entire Dell offering of computers to you at an academic
discount of up to 12%
Computers purchased from Dell will be shipped directly to the
address you specify, they will not come to the UC Computer Store.
Purchasing a warranty from Dell will increase the discount
provided by Dell.
Dell calls the accidental warranty for their laptops Complete
Care.
Please choose Windows XP Professional if you plan on using
this computer on UT's network (i.e. dorms or wireless network).
UT's Network Services strongly discourages Windows
Vista products at this time.
UT students, faculty, and staff can purchase Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Plus at the UC Computer
Store for
$75.00, which is considerably less than what manufacturers
charge.
If you choose option 1, you will have access to Dell's entire catalog, and will be purchasing a computer through Dell, not through the UT Computer Store. Some machines may not be suitable for campus use. Please read the above notes carefully. If you want advice, please call us at (865)-974-9268.
Option 2 - Select machines are now offered through
the store
(Available for payroll deduction)
In an effort to
better serve our customers we offer a
few select models of Dell through our store. These machines
will be ordered, paid for, and ship through the store. This allows
our faculty and staff the ability to do payroll
deductions. The computers offered through this program are part
of Dell's business/educational line of computers, featuring Dell Latitudes
(laptops) and the Dell Optiplex (desktop). The business line of computers
are more inline with what the university prefers to maintain
on campus. The computers offered can be upgraded
and software such as Microsoft Office can be added. Ask in store personnel
or email us at uccs@tennessee.edu to
determine what upgrades are available and pricing.
